HAPPY DAYS IN ECONOMY

As the iconic Boeing 747 ‘Queen of the Skies’ is retired from aircraft fleets around the world, the CILTNA Air Transport Updates newsletter features ‘Happy Days in Economy: B747 Main Deck Lounges’ by Jennifer Coutts Clay CMILT, author of JETLINER CABINS.

This is the second article in Jennifer’s series of articles about B747 cabin innovations and the integral involvement of Pan American World Airways (Pan Am).

This article recalls the passenger experience onboard the B747-100 main deck lounges flown in the 1970s by airlines such as Pan Am, Continental and American Airlines.
