David Willis reviews the fourth edition of 'Jetliner Cabins: Evolution & Innovation' by Jennifer Coutts Clay
(December 4, 2024)

Some highlights:
  • The coverage and depth of knowledge of the subject displayed is both extensive and authoritative, as can be expected from an author who worked in senior positions in the airline industry.
  • There are 245 electronic pages divided into 16 chapters, although the ability to link the E-book with content hosted on the web increases its scope of content far beyond what the pagination would suggest.
  • While such subjects may not sound like natural ‘page-turners’, the combination of well written narrative, interspaced with comments by relevant people from industry, and creative presentation – bullet points, links to other content, images – kept me engaged.
  • If you have an interest in airliners, aircraft interiors or design in general, this is definitely the (E-)book for you.

This was a very informative book on the evolution of Jet Liners. I wasn't sure this was a book when I first purchased it, but that was okay. I would recommend reading this book on a tablet rather than your phone as the tablet screen is better for this book. I really enjoyed the full color pictures and explanations of everything from windows to seating innovations. Overall, if you are interested in Jet Liners and how they have transformed through time and continue to this would be book to read.

Sabrina Raymond (January 3, 2021)

Jetliner Cabins: An Evolution of the Passenger's Experience.
Since my first flight when I was five years old, airplanes have fascinated me. It is always so intriguing to contemplate the evolution of the designs and the efficiency elements throughout these five decades. Civil aviation has become more democratic over the years. More people have access to this means of transport every day, previously reserved only for the elites.

Nowadays, walking inside an airplane, we can almost feel we are entering a 'flying house' the innovations in engineering and aviation do not limit themselves to new designs, performance, or efficiency but primed by esthetic element. this app-ebook shows an incredible volume of useful information about efficiency, luxury (comfort), privacy, flexibility.

The quality of the imagery, and the information contained here are excellent. I truly recommend it.
